Chocolate Fudge

Ingredients:

¼ Cup Butter

¾ Cup/ 1 Can Sweetened Condensed Milk

1 Cup Marshmallow Cream/16 Large Marshmallows/2 Cups Small Marshmallows

2 ¼ Cup Sugar

¼ tsp. Salt

½ Cup Chocolate Morsels

1 tsp. Vanilla

Opt. 1 Cup Chopped Nuts


Directions without candy thermometer:

Coat baking dish with oil or parchment paper. In heavy saucepan, mix butter, condensed milk, marshmallow, sugar and salt over medium heat. Stir constantly, using a wooden or rubber spoon. Bring to a boil. Boil 5 minutes, remove from heat. Add 1/2 cup chocolate morsels and 1 tsp vanilla. Add nuts if desired. Place in coated baking dish to cool completely.


Directions with candy thermometer:

Coat baking dish with oil or parchment paper. In heavy saucepan, mix butter, condensed milk, marshmallow, sugar and salt over medium heat. Stir constantly, using a wooden or rubber spoon. Bring to a boil. When the temperature reaches about 236-238 degrees F/113-114 degrees C, remove from heat. Add ¼ cup butter and 1/2 cup chocolate morsels, do not stir. (Stirring after the fudge reaches the correct temperature can create gritty fudge.) Let cool to at least 110 degrees F/40 degrees C then mix in 1 tsp vanilla, add nuts if desired. Place in coated baking dish to cool completely.
