TAMMY'S HOMEMADE GRANOLA

9 cups rolled oats (instant or old fashioned okay)

1 pkg. 14 oz. coconut

2 cups chopped dates

2 cups raisins

1 cup powdered milk

2 T cinnamon

Mix the above ingredients into a large mixing bowl.

4 cups brown sugar (not packed)

1 cup oil

water

In a quart jar or in a 4 cup glass measuring cup. Fill it with the brown sugar (4 cups) then pour in the oil, then add hot water to top.

Stir until all mixed together and no lumps.

Pour liquid mixture into dry mixture.

Mix all together.

Put about 1 T of oil in baking pan and grease the pan. Add about 1/4 of the mixture and spread out as best as you can.

Put pan into oven at 350 degrees. Bake for about 7 minutes. Pull out and use spoon to stir the granola and to break up any clumps.

Repeat.

Repeat again.

Pour toasted granola into plastic container.

Add more granola to pan and toast it. Stirring it as needed and breaking up the clumps.

This recipe make a HUGE amount of granola. Probably 6-8 boxes worth. But it is better and cheaper.

I make a lot, then store it in the pantry in plastic bags or containers. It can keep like that for one year.

I also have used dried cranberries, white raisins, almonds, pecans, etc. All are yummy!
